RHT Furniture Donation

30th November 2021

Recently, we completed an office relocation for 400 members of staff in Glasgow. the client wanted to re-use as much of their OLD furniture as possible. Some of the furniture was given to one of our chosen charities; Citizens Advice Scotland, based in Aberdeenshire. RHT Group re-used 95.6% of the old furniture, with the rest being fully recycled.

Citizens Advice Scotland has 60 member bureaux and their consumer helpline together form Scotland’s largest independent advice network. CAB help more than 300,000 people solve their problems each year in communities everywhere from city centres to the Highlands and Islands. They look at the problems people bring to them for advice services and campaign for change where it is needed most. The Bureau works for a fairer Scotland where people are empowered, and their rights respected.

The furniture RHT Group were able to donate (due to the ethical disposal scheme) has enabled Bureaux in Turriff and Macduff to replace old and damaged furniture to create a better working environment.

Turriff Bureau Manager has been ecstatic with the furniture donation, which has been welcomed as a boost for the two Bureaux. Citizens Advice Scotland is a registered charity and does not receive funding for replacing old or damaged furniture.

RHT Group has been delighted to help the Bureaux create a better working environment for staff and volunteers. Now more than ever Citizens Advice Scotland are in demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic giving people the knowledge and confidence to find a way forward with their problems. This is done by providing advice, education and support, and influencing policies and practices that affect their clients.

Ethical disposal of office furniture is an aspect of office renovations and removals that is often overlooked. However, we at RHT Group provide this service, you may wonder why we offer such a service. As a business, we are advocates of corporate and social responsibility, we can remove and sort old unwanted furniture and electrical items from your premises with zero landfill waste while helping local charities. Any furniture that is not suitable for donation to charities is then broken down into component parts to be environmentally recycled safely.
